Evidence chronology · 2025

Decisions, complaints and oversight

This year documents what was decided, what I challenged, which processes were initiated and what remained unresolved. Proceedings and complaints are not treated as findings of wrongdoing.

Formal processes and their consequences

The entries distinguish contemporaneous records, later accounts, and unresolved claims. Each entry lists its source and publication status. Photographs and other media are displayed only when separately approved.

01 / An institutional action

Letter concerning enrolment

A dated university letter concerned presumptive withdrawal from the JD program. The precise basis, effects and disputed issues are explained with the underlying document rather than a broad characterization.

Evidence: March 7, 2025 letter identified in case records
Status: Exact year/date confirmed against original before publication
02 / Procedural communication

Human-rights office response

Correspondence addressed timeliness and the handling of the internal complaint process. The response and the applicant's objections are documented separately.

Evidence: March 31, 2025 correspondence
Status: Administrative outcome only
03 / Completion possibilities

A proposed plan for finishing the degree

A recorded discussion explored whether a supported academic completion proposal might be developed and considered by an authorized decision-maker. The conversation was not itself a final approval, and the contemplated route was not implemented.

Evidence: April 2025 discussion excerpt and transcript T-218–T-219
Status: Proposal distinguished from institutional authorization
03 / A central decision

Continuing-enrolment petition decision

A formal decision on academic status became a focus of later efforts to obtain a workable path forward. The year diary will identify its wording and consequences with a redacted extract.

Evidence: May 2, 2025 petition decision
Status: Decision is not a finding on all discrimination allegations
04 / External oversight requested

Ombudsman submission

A documented submission asked Ontario's Ombudsman to examine aspects of the university response. Filing a submission does not establish that oversight made the requested findings.

Evidence: June 10, 2025 Ombudsman schedule and submission materials
Status: Third-party and privileged materials withheld
06 / Professional consequences

Preserving a future in law during academic uncertainty

Academic status affected the timing of professional training. Correspondence about deferral and eligibility is part of the record of practical consequences, distinct from the merits of the underlying complaints.

Evidence: Professional training deferral correspondence and academic-status records
Status: Employment and personal financial documents remain private
05 / A parallel formal process

Human-rights proceedings

An HRTO application and related procedural correspondence form part of the larger record. Claims, arguments and procedural steps must not be presented as tribunal merits findings.

Evidence: HRTO application and procedural record
Status: No merits finding implied
08 / Tribunal procedure

Further scheduling correspondence

Human-rights tribunal correspondence addressed mediation scheduling. Such communications document how the proceeding moved forward; they are not merits decisions about allegations in the application.

Evidence: December 18, 2025 HRTO procedural correspondence
Status: Procedural record only
